Who Do You Think You Are?

Last week I got to present Dreaming With God to a small group of state and national leaders from all over the world. Five years ago if you had suggested that I would be doing this, I would have laughed at you. Who do you think I am? I come from one of the smaller nation’s on earth. We have more sheep than people! The town I grew up is was a small agricultural based community. And I’m certainly not the smartest from my family or friends. But God. When you yield your dream for God’s dream, you will be astounded at what happens. Who you think you are (or are not) becomes irrelevant.

Who am I

“Look among the nations and watch – Be utterly astounded!
For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe though it were told you.”   Habakkuk 1:5

As I considered what has happened since we left life-as-we-knew-it in New Zealand and now stand before great leaders I am utterly astounded. I recalled the words of David when he was finally established as King in Jerusalem:

“Who am I O Lord God? And what is my house that you have brought me this far?”   2 Samuel 7:18

If God can literally take me from following sheep to what I am doing now, what can He do with you? What’s your excuse?

Abraham was too old

Moses couldn’t speak

Timothy was too young

Rahab was a prostitute

Jesus was from Nazareth

Thomas wasn’t sure

Lazarus was dead

The enemy will ask you “Who do you think you are?” Your friends will ask you, “Who do you think you are?” You will likely even ask yourself, “Who am I, to be doing this?” But all you need to know is how God answered Moses when he asked the same question:

Moses, Prince of Egypt: “Who am I…?”
God, Creator of the Universe: “I will certainly be with you.”
Exodus 3:11

When you know that God is with you, impossible become’s irrelevant. Actually, impossible becomes target practice. When you exchange your inadequacies for His Greatness with you, you can literally do anything. So what IS your dream? Now, what is God’s dream for you? Next step – get your copy of Dream Culture and turn your dreaming with God into reality.

For God is with you. And if God is with you, who can stand against you?
(see Romans 8:31)
